We had a good day in Churchstoke Shopping Center on Saturday Sept 16th. It;s very rural and quiet compared to a town Supermarket but we managed to raise £350

================================================================================================We have now reached the end of another successful fundraising year in support of
Lunchtime today saw me travel to Shrewsbury with my daughter Hollie at the invitation of Brother Eric Jones ROH.The welcome from the Shrewsburycastle Tom Scott 10680 Lodge, in the Shrewsbury Province, was as ever genuinely warm.
I attended the Lodge as well as the PGL meeting, a real eye opener as to how this Lodge goes about fundraising within the Lodge as well as in the surrounding areas.
After the both Lodges were finished, the presentations began, and mind blowing was the amount donated to various causes, £7400 in total. A magnificent achievement.
£5000 raised by the 2023 Provincial Grand Primo, Brother Richard Shellard ROH, was presented to Macmillan Nurses by the Grand Primo, Brother John Brogan ROH, the current Provincial Grand Primo, Brother Frank Maddocks ROH, and received by Kate Thomas, Relationship Fundraising Manager for Macmillan Cancer Support who was accompanied by Carole Green, Treasurer, Shrewsbury Group.
£1200 was raised by Eric Jones Shrewsburycastle with Brothers from the Province at venues throughout the area. This sum was presented by Brother Eric to Philip Haigh Community Fundraiser for the Severn Children’s Hospice.
£1200 was also presented by Brother Eric to Bekkie Fardoe for Hope House Children’s Hospice to help parents through the loss of a child.
A really great afternoon of presentations to local Shropshire charitable organisations who really need the extra provided by supporters to provide that extra assistance that the NHS cannot do.
This years Provincial Grand Primo’s appeal is towards ABF, advance brighter future to assist those in need. Brother Frank Maddocks ROH will be amongst us looking for donations.
Afterwards a raffle was held with multiple prizes, and an excellent spread of graze for everyone to enjoy.
Happy days
Arthur Frederick Hughes ROH

The Grand Primo-Grand Lodge of England appeal 2023 is in support of Prostate Cancer UK (Research) Here at Prostate Cancer Research we are determined to provide a better future for men and their families. The Shropshire Province will also be active in the support of this appeal
In cooperation with United Ukraine Foundation and The N H S The RAOB GLE have provided two ambulances for use by The Ukraine .At the December Grand Lodge 2022 meeting the Grand Primo received two gentlemen
Roman and Rostislav from the United Ukraine Foundation, who came to present the
membership of the RAOB GLE an emblem of gratitude and a medal for the actions carried
out by the membership in answering the call to purchase two ambulances.
The Grand Primo informed the floor that the full story is available on the web site if you log on and go to the Charities Supported page and click on read more, then scroll down until
you see a blue link for the full story on the Ukrainian Ambulance appeal.
In the meantime, Roman made the following statement to the floor of Grand Lodge:
Dear Sirs,
It is an honour for me personally and for the whole team of our charitable initiative United
Ukraine Foundation to be here. A separate thank you to Colin for his kind invitation to join
your special event today.
Just a few words about us, United Ukraine Foundation is a young but very motivated
organization. In February this year many things have dramatically changed to many people.
As you all know in the second-largest European county the war burst out. We could not
stay indifferent, as most of our team members originating from Ukraine, so we selforganized into a team of volunteers to support Ukrainians in the difficult times.
Since March 2022 our team has delivered 34 ambulances to the hospitals in Ukraine.
Up until now we keep working on getting Ukraine back on its feet, in literal sense of these
words - we work on providing prosthetics for Ukrainians who suffered a limb loss. There is
enormous quantity of extremely complex amputations that can be treated only abroad.
The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes support indeed has played a crucial role in
helping medics to save numerous lives and bring first aid provision to another level. RAOB
kindly donated funds to purchase two fully equipped ambulances and deliver them to the
hospitals in need in Ukraine.
Later, we have been informed that namely these ambulances evacuated and saved lives of
more than 300 people over only first 2 months of work.
Thus, on behalf of grateful Ukrainians and Ukrainian medics, we would like to hand over
this special «thank you» to the members of The Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes. This
is a Letter of gratitude and a medal - The Volunteer of Ukraine for providing essentially
important humanitarian aid.
Your support will never be forgotten by grateful Ukrainians.
At the end I would like to mention that in Japanese the word of ‘crises’ is written with two
words, they mean ‘danger’ and ‘opportunity’. Thus, the crisis that Ukrainian community had
to face these days is definitely dangerous time, but it is equally the time for new bigger and
brighter opportunities in the future and let it be so!
Thank you very much for your kind attention and your significant support
Pete Spence
I just wanted to take the opportunity to thank everybody who has supported Team 2020 to help raise a fantastic £48,590.77 for Alzheimer's Research UK.The presentation of the monies raised was made to Naomi Walters at the Grand Lodge meeting yesterday. We raised £7481.00 during 2020 and that was handed to the charity at the end of 2020, so with a clean sheet the remaining £41,019.77 was raised in 2021.....considering the impacts of the lockdowns over that time it makes the total even more amazing. My personal thanks go to the members of the RAOB, OBA, family and friends who were generous enough to put their hands in their pockets and support the activites that had been arranged to support the Appeal. It just proves what can be done when we work together for a greater good......it is what we do best after all......and we can all reflect on a "job well done".
